University of Missouri-Kansas City

Ellen Ojo

RLC Chair

Chair's Letter

My name is Ellen Ojo, and I will be serving as your 2025-2026 Regional Leadership Conference Chair. I am a Computer Engineering student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have been honored to serve on the UTSA NSBE board for the majority of my college career. With experience in various leadership roles, I understand the weight of responsibility many of our new chapter leaders are carrying. The goal for RLC is to help build confidence in your role, providing you with resources and community to do so.

Think of this conference as preparation for a marathon. The training, mental preparation, and strategic planning to help pace yourself for the race ahead. This year’s conference theme is “R.A.C.E. to the Finish Line.” It’s a reminder that every great leader must train with purpose and run in alignment with something greater than just a title.

Resourcefulness

Ensuring you, NSBE’s future leader, are empowered to make the most of your resources, networks, and knowledge throughout your term. Resourcefulness focuses on the tools and support systems that will allow you to run an efficient and sustainable organization.

Advocacy

Offering a platform for you to confidently speak up for yourself, your chapter, and your community. Advocacy focuses on integrity and transparency in leadership, especially when it matters most.

Community

Fostering a stronger and more unified region by deepening collaboration and connection. Community focuses on the power of togetherness within your chapter and across the region. You’ll learn how to lean on others and create a sense of unity.

Expansion

Equipping you to be a vital connector in your community, bringing in the next generation of engineers and leaders. Expansion will teach you how to elevate your branding, visibility, and membership engagement.

As leaders, we are obligated to pass the baton to the next generation. This Regional Leadership Conference will call you to step out of your comfort zone and into what leadership is really about. This conference will be meaningful for everyone, regardless of their level of experience.
