Our Goals

Hello NSBE Region VI,

Welcome to the most extensive region within the National Society of Black Engineers! I am excited to serve as your Regional Professionals Chairperson for the 2024-2025 term, and looking forward to the journey ahead. I am Alvin Scioneaux, Jr., a former Senior Systems Engineer within the Aerospace & Defense industry with a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University and B.S. in Physics from Wofford College.

Our region covers the diverse community of pre-collegiate, collegiate, and technical professional members across the massive Western United States including Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Western Canada. We are united by a common purpose, which is the NSBE mission to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

This year, my vision for the region is to focus our efforts towards "Engineering the N.S.B.E. Standard" which will include: Nurturing Growth, Systematizing Efforts, Blazing Energy, and Executing Tasks. I look forward to an incredible year ahead filled with inspiring events, enriching programs, and opportunities to connect with fellow NSBE members. Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of serving as your Regional Professionals Chairperson. Please reach out as you see fit and let's make this year a remarkable one as we "Engineer the N.S.B.E. Standard" in WHOSE HOUSE....SIX HOUSE!

With NSBE Luv,
Alvin Scioneaux, Jr.
