Engineering Diversity focuses on career pathways and multi-industry penetration for the NSBE membership.


The Engineering Diversity Program marks a transition from the previous “Business Diversity” initiative, shifting its focus from entrepreneurship to broader career pathways and industry engagement for NSBE members. Emphasizing the versatility of engineering skills across diverse sectors, the program explores traditional engineering roles, career title variations, and non-traditional pathways. It offers resource development, enrichment activities, and experiential programs like the Elevator Pitch, Fire Pit, and NSBE Debaters Competitions.

Additionally, the program covers topics ranging from engineering to law, medicine, public policy, and education, providing comprehensive support for members’ career aspirations. Your toolkit includes:

Black Excellence Engineered

We envision a world in which engineering is a mainstream word in homes and communities of color, and all Black students can envision themselves as engineers. In this world, Blacks exceed parity in entering engineering fields, earning degrees, and succeeding professionally.
The NSBE membership year spans August 1 – July 31.
The membership fee is nonrefundable. By submitting your membership application, you acknowledge that the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) World Headquarters office is not liable for the collection or refund of any chapter-related fees. These additional fees may include chapter dues and/or tuition.
