Empowering Black Excellence in Engineering

Accelerate your growth with NSBE's tailored programs.

NSBE's Initiatives

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) leads transformative initiatives that reshape the engineering landscape. Through our cornerstone programs – 10k by 2025, the Integrated Pipeline Program, and Professional Development opportunities – we’re creating lasting change in engineering education and industry representation. Our initiatives combine academic support, professional mentorship, and industry partnerships to build a robust pipeline of Black engineering talent.

From supporting students through degree completion to facilitating career advancement, NSBE’s programs work in concert to achieve our vision: a world where engineering excellence reflects the full spectrum of Black innovation and leadership.

  • 10k by 2025

Imagine a world where engineering is a household conversation in every community of color, and where Black students can see themselves thriving as engineers.

To make this vision a reality, we prioritize boosting freshman engineering enrollment and pursue an ambitious strategic goal: to increase the number of Black students completing undergraduate engineering degree programs each year in the U.S. to 10,000 (10k) by 2025.

  • Integrated Pipeline Program

Just as no two organizations are identical, each Integrated Pipeline Program is different — custom-designed in consultations with NSBE’s staff to meet the client’s precise needs and budget. Program objectives and components are selected from a portfolio of proven strategies and are created to suit the partner’s needs, match the partner’s organizational norms and achieve desired results.

  • Professional Development Program

Our NSBE Professionals are a great resource for professional development. The organization’s programming includes a large number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that cover subjects such as aerospace engineering, entrepreneurship, IT, healthcare, environmental engineering, renewable energy and more! Visit the SIG sites to begin to level up!

  • Black Excellence Engineered

We envision a world in which engineering is a mainstream word in homes and communities of color, and all Black students can envision themselves as engineers. In this world, Blacks exceed parity in entering engineering fields, earning degrees, and succeeding professionally.
