Hello, Region II!
I am Brooke Scott, a Master of Civil Engineering student at North Carolina A&T State
University, and it is a privilege to serve as your Region II Chairperson for the 2025–2026
term.
Region II is fueled by bold thinkers and change-makers; students who juggle demanding
coursework while leading impactful initiatives, professionals who keep climbing and lift
others along the way, and mentors and advisors who pour their time and wisdom into the
next generation. We are called the Model Region for a reason. We set the standard in how
we lead, collaborate, innovate, and most importantly, how we support one another.
This year, we’re channeling all that passion and purpose toward one mission:
Inspiring the next generation of leaders within the Model Region.
This motto isn't just about preparing future engineers. It’s about helping our members own
their voice, lead their communities, challenge the status quo, and leave a lasting impact.
Together, we'll focus on three clear goals:
1. Building a Stronger Region Together
We’re committed to strengthening the bonds that unite us. By deepening
connections across zones and chapters, we’re creating more opportunities to
collaborate, share ideas, and shine a light on the incredible work happening in our
communities. We are building a culture rooted in unity, shared purpose, and mutual
support.
2. Empowering an Informed Membership
We’re committed to fostering a culture of transparency, keeping members in the
loop on regional and national updates, STEM opportunities, and the broader issues
that shape the experiences of Black STEM students and professionals. By sharing
knowledge openly and consistently, we’ll ensure that every member feels equipped
to act with confidence and clarity.
3. Igniting Leadership at Every Level
Leadership isn’t reserved for titles; it’s about action, vision, and growth. Across
every membership level, we are creating opportunities to lead, learn, and develop
new skills. From spotlighting member journeys to offering spaces for development
and connection, we’re building an environment where every member can grow into
the leader they’re meant to be.
We’re leaning into innovation, challenging old ways of doing things, and keeping our
members at the center of our work. It’s not about tradition for tradition’s sake but about
embracing what works, letting go of what doesn’t and creating something bold, and true to
who we are.
As we kick off this year, I encourage you to show up fully and unapologetically, bringing your
best and whole self to every challenge and opportunity. The legacy we honor wasn’t built
overnight, and it’s not upheld by one person or chapter alone. It’s a collective effort, driven
by committed members like you. This year, let’s keep raising the bar, uplifting our
communities, and leading with intention. Let’s make this year transformational!
With HYPEST Regard,
Brooke Scott
