Dear Prospective Partner:
Region III of the National Society of Black Engineers is excited to invite you to partner with us as we strive to fulfill NSBE’s mission. This year, we aim to unify our region through communicating a unified message, financially supporting chapters most impacted by anti-DEI legislation, as well as assisting with cross-chapter collaboration throughout all levels of our membership in the region. In addition, we are striving to enhance the membership experience through expansion of Pre-College Initiative programming. Last, we want to diversify our reach through community engagement, K–12 chapter visits, redefining the ways we use social media as well as highlighting the NSBE story. Achieving our goals will require communication, effective execution and the support of our partners.
Region III boasts 2,500 Collegiate members, 550 NSBE Jr. (pre-college) members and 450 Professional members. In addition, our Collegiate members represent 59 active chapters throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee. Our NSBE Jr. members participate in 37 active chapters, and our Professionals membership represents 17 active chapters. Region III is known as the “Powerhouse Region,” because of the exceptional leadership, academic and technical capabilities continually exhibited by our collegiate and technical professional members.
According to U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Top Engineering Programs, 15 of the 100 top-ranked engineering programs in the nation are located within Region III. Our region is the home of 44 Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the most of any NSBE region. According to Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, we have six institutions among the top 10 producers of African Americans with bachelor’s degrees in engineering and six of the top 10 producers of African Americans with master’s degrees in engineering each year.
Region III is home to some of the top talents that NSBE has to offer, and we have developed a reputation for tremendous leadership, membership participation and academic prowess. These qualities make Region III a unique and unparalleled opportunity for recruiters. It is only with the support of our partners that Region III continues to excel year after year.
We invite you to connect, engage and recruit with Region III. In exchange, you will gain access to the best and brightest diverse STEM talent that NSBE has to offer. And when hired, our NSBE members foster a well-rounded workplace capable of innovative thinking, empowered leadership and continual growth.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Bryce Grant

The Fall Regional Conferences (FRCs) of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) provide your organization with the opportunity to source candidates on a local level and help achieve your fall recruitment needs. Combining education, networking and job opportunities, FRCs allow your organization to recruit Black engineers from your regional communities.
Each FRC includes a Career Fair, allowing organizations to recruit the best and brightest STEM and engineering talent. These unique, region-targeted events are the perfect place to match qualified candidates to your open positions and internships on a national level and at your regional and district offices. In addition, they allow students to find local job opportunities and are ideal for local employers looking to recruit top talent.

Quiz bowl is a game in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge, including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, popular culture, sports, and more.
The defining feature of quiz bowl is the use of a "buzzer system" that lets players interrupt the reading of a question when they know the answer. That element adds a dimension of confidence, anticipation, and rapid recall to a game about knowing facts. Those "tossup" questions are answered individually but doing so earns one's team a chance at a three-part "bonus" question. Bonus questions are worth more points and allow collaboration but are generally more complex.

The Accelerate Tech Initiative will utilize the expertise of computer science and engineering students in NSBE collegiate chapters to bolster the tech offerings of K–12 schools in the areas near their college or university campus. Working with a district administrator within the Miami-Dade County Public Schools and with an existing, approved curriculum, we will provide content around computer science to southern Florida schools, to keep up with the industry push toward a technology-driven world. Computational thinking assessments will be provided to students to inform them what version of computer science curriculum they would be receiving, such as scratch (no-code platform) vs. Java fundamentals. This partnership will not only allow us to provide K–12 students with the resources they need for the weekly program but also provide scholarships/stipends to college students who will be traveling to participate in this program.
