Welcome from Your Fall
Regional Conference Chairperson!

What’s up Region IV,
My name is Brianna Smyles and it is my pleasure to serve as your 2019-2020 Fall Regional Conference Chairperson.
This year’s conference will take place in the lovely city of Grand Rapids in Michigan. It will be held in the Amway Grand Plaza from November 15th to November 17th. This year not only marks the end of a decade but marks the last five-year push to reach our 2025 goal of graduating 10,000 black engineers annually. It is important now more than ever to push for an increase in collegiate membership from our rising freshmen’s and to retain the current membership nationally and internationally. This year’s theme is Engineering the Revolution with specific focuses in societal revolution, industrial revolution, personal revolution, and cultural revolution. This conference experience will encourage you to grow and expand your academic, professional, and personal life goals. There will be interaction between all students of all demographics and countless opportunities to network.
I hope you all experience a conference like no other. Whether this is your first time or your last time, gaining and retaining valuable knowledge is key.
I look forward to speaking and meeting as many of you all as I can! Once again, thank you to the wonderful city of Grand Rapids for hosting this year’s FRC.
Fo’ Solid, Fo’ Life, Fo’ Eva!
Brianna C. Smyles
