Sydney R. Anderson is a junior earning her Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She was raised in Kentucky and Pennsylvania, and currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri. Sydney has been an active member of NSBE at PITT since her freshman year, where she volunteered with the Fund for Advancement of Minorities Through Education (FAME). Following this, she served as Fundraising Chair her sophomore year. This year she will be serving as the Region II Finance Chairperson and strives to maintain and optimize current working standards in obtaining sponsorships and partnerships and ensure its sustainability for future years. Sydney has also been fortunate enough to participate in two different summer research programs: Summer Research Internship and Particle-based Functional Materials REU, both at PITT. In her free time, Sydney enjoys reading, cooking, and watching Korean dramas. Following graduation, she plans to continue her studies in graduate school pursuing a PhD in Genetic Engineering.
