"Cliff Campbell, a mechanical engineer at iRobot, spent a school day with the NSBE Jr. members at Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Boston, MA. Mr. Campbell discussed the technology inside iRobot products and various engineering disciplines required for robotic design. Students were able to operate the robots with the remote controller (similar to the video game controller)"

"We started in small groups, mixed with Collegiate and NSBE Jr. members, and had conversations about college over lunch. We played a couple rounds of the Human Knot and then went into group projects where they had to "reinvent" the straw.
It was overall a great time, according to the feedback I received from my chapter and the BETA students. If funding permits, we want to implement more of these events (since we had the greatest showing in numbers of students ~20) next semester. "

"The president of the University at Buffalo NSBE chapter Carine Fanou and I engaged in a mentoring/tutoring program with the UB STEP NSBE Jr chapter. During the Saturday Academy we aided students with their research abstracts and provided guidance with their research projects for an upcoming science bowl competition at St. John Fisher College. The students were very appreciative and look forward to having us serve as mentors in the coming year"

"We held our 7th Annual School wide Christmas/Kwanzaa Luncheon.
It was our major fundraiser where we had two seatings - during our first seating we hosted buffet lunch for the student body and a restaurant style lunch for our teachers. At our second seating we hosted an end of the year celebration acknowledging parents and our NSBE Jr members."

Syracuse City School District #NSBEJr Chapter @Syracuse University
"On December 7, 2013 the Syracuse University chapter paid tribute to NSBE Jr Month by holding a special NSBE Jr seminar with over 40 NSBE Jr members and their parents. During this meeting NSBE chaperones selected which NSBE Jr members would participate in competitions at the 40th Annual Convention and provided general information on National Convention. As part of the seminar members and parents had a meet and greet over pizza and good conversation with suggestions for improvement for next year. In addition the Syracuse University chapter held a panel with the high school seniors, providing information on choosing the right college, the college application process, and what resources are available to students."
